Greene Street Remodel Updates

Grand Designs

(updated 5/22/2024)

If you’ve been by the Greene Street Branch lately, you’ll notice there’s not much of it left! Part of our remodel has been assessing the structure and making changes so that the branch is fully modernized. After all, the building itself hadn’t had much done to it in at least 50 years!

We would love to share our vision of how our Greene Street Branch will look once all the dust has settled:

In addition to better parking, an ATM, and more ADA-compliant access, we want to create a welcoming hub for all members at Revity. You’ll notice a new, more relaxed waiting area as well as an update teller window. Not pictured are our offices, where you will find our qualified, professional team working to help you on your financial journey.

The biggest question we get is, “When are you reopening Greene Street?” We have been aiming at a grand re-opening in Late Fall 2024 if we are able to stay on schedule. We will keep you updated!

Construction of Greene Street, March 2024219 N. Greene has been completely demolished and our Greene Street Branch has been stripped to the studs! It’s amazing how big the branch is without the walls. We can’t wait to see how the branch will come together to create a new experience for our members!

Construction has begun!

(updated 2/22/2024)

This morning, we popped by Greene Street to get a good look at what’s going on. Demolition of 219 N. Greene has begun, and the sidewalks are still closed from the Greene Street Streetscape project. We’re excited to see this project in action!

Construction at 219 and 217 N. Greene St., Greensboro

Construction to begin shortly on Greene Street Branch

(updated 2/15/2024)

Now that the building has been vacated, we are excited to announce that we are getting ready for construction starting this month. This construction will affect both our Greene Street Branch at 217 N. Greene as well as the vacant building next door at 219 N. Greene. The vacant building’s footprint will be absorbed into the new Greene Street Branch. Construction and temporary branch closure is expected through at least October 2024.

While cleaning out the building, we were able to assist the following nonprofits with office furniture donations:

The City of Greensboro has also begun work on the Greene Street Streetscape project, rendering the sidewalk and parking in front of our Greene Street Branch inaccessible. While we did not time our remodel around this project, we are grateful that this will not impact our membership as the branch is already temporarily closed. We’re remodeling our Greene Street Branch in 2024!

(updated 1/12/2024)

We are excited to announce that we are beginning a remodel project on our Greene Street Branch! This transformation of the branch will include:

  • An ATM with deposit capabilities at Greene Street
  • Surface parking options for Greene Street members
  • New lobby and staff offices
  • New façade…and more!

As of January 12, 2024, we have closed the Greene Street Branch to members during renovation.

Where can I go to do transactions?

Both Soabar and Renaissance Branches will be open 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. This brings a change in hours to our Renaissance Branch, which will keep these hours throughout the remodel of Greene Street.

Our Greene Street Night Drop will also close for the renovation. The Soabar Night Drop will be open for any after-hours deposits. ATMs at Soabar and Renaissance are also capable of taking account deposits at any time.

It’sMe247 Online Banking and Mobile App access is 24/7 wherever you are! Mobile Check Deposit, Bill Pay, and Account to Account (A2A) Transfers are easy to use app features and can save you a trip to a branch.

How long will Greene Street be closed?

We anticipate the project to take several months to complete. Keep up with our progress on this page, through email, and Facebook.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to serving you at our Soabar and Renaissance Branches during the remodel.
